Crochet Calling 2026: A month of crochet pattern flash sales and freebies
Welcome to Crochet Calling 2026! Now in its 5th year, Crochet Calling is my annual month of flash sales and treasure hunts with clues and freebies peppered throughout.
August is the time to get prepped for the fall / autumn and winter crochet season. (Or spring summer if you’re south of the equator – there are some bits here for you too!!)
So, can you hear crochet calling you?

What’s is Crochet Calling?
Crochet calling is a month long flash sale with a fun treasure hunt style twist.
Below is a summary of what’s going on;
- 50% off a different PDF crochet pattern each day for the first 30 days of August 2026: The sale on each pattern lasts for 24 hours only (midnight to midnight UK time) – no code needed and it applies to patterns purchased in my Etsy or Ravelry stores only.
- Mystery Freebies: There are 5 mystery freebie codes (I’ve thrown in an extra one to mark the 5th year!) dotted throughout the pattern pages of the sale items – these will be available to download as PDF crochet from Ravelry for free (using the code) for 24 hours
- Find the clues: There are 7 clues hidden on the pattern pages of the flash sale items, scattered throughout the month – put together the letters in each clue (in the order they appear) to get a secret code for which can be used to download a 3 pattern mystery bundle from Ravelry on the last day of the month
- Email reminders so you don’t miss a bargain: Sign up here to get an email notification each day which links directly to that days sale pattern so you don’t miss a thing. This event homepage will also be updated daily with that day’s offer too

50% off Flash Sale Information
I have chosen 30 patterns from my crochet pattern library and will be offering at 50% off each one for 24 hours only (UK time – that’s BST) over consecutive days from 1st-30th August 2026.
You will be able to purchase the PDF crochet pattern at 50% off from Ravelry or Etsy on the day it’s on offer.
Simply select the purchase from Ravelry / Etsy links or buttons on the pattern information page to be taken to the listing. You do not need to enter a code, the discount will be added automatically at checkout.
In a slight tweak for this year, I will, for the first time, share the patterns which are up-coming week by week, so each Saturday you can see what will be on offer for the next 7 days.
If you’re not seeing updates, you may wish to delete your browser cookies. Alternatively you can sign up to the crochet calling daily notifications and you will receive a link each day which will take you directly to the pattern page of that day’s offer. This is the best way to make sure you don’t miss that pattern you’ve had your eye on!
If daily reminders aren’t your thing then WiP Tip subscribers will receive details of the upcoming offers in the Saturday WiP Tip email.
Once the 24 hour period is up (from midnight to midnight BST – UK time) the offer will be gone and the next one will begin.
The patterns included in the sale will be a mix of garments, accessories, homewares and, well everything really.
The sale features patterns in no particular theme order, but the majority will be patterns that are only available as paid PDFs to maximise the value of the sale. This is the best offer you will get all year on these patterns! (I don’t do Black Friday offers so please don’t wait for those.)
Mystery Freebies
To celebrate the 5th year of this event, I have upped the number of hidden freebies to 5.
To find the freebies;
- You will need to find the hidden discount codes.
- These are scattered over 5 of the pattern pages of the patterns included in the flash sale.
- The freebie will only be on offer for the same 24 hours as the pattern on whose page it’s hidden
- Each code appears in a clickable graphic which looks like the one below.
- Clicking the image will take you to the pattern page of the freebie
- Follow the link to the Ravelry listing and use the code to download the pattern for free on the date stated in the image (BST/UK time).
- These patterns will only be available to download from Ravelry (Etsy does not permit free downloads) on the date given.
The text on the image will have the X replaced by the date that the offer is available and the code needed to enter at the Ravelry checkout to grab your freebie. It will be valid on the date shown only in UK time (BST).
The code is spelled out in the alt text so if you use a screen reader you should be able to access it too.
One of the reasons I am sharing the upcoming sale patterns is to give you extra time to find the freebie codes by checking out the pattern pages in advance.
The crochet treasure hunt (find the clues)
I have also hidden 7 ‘clues’ on the pattern pages of the designs included in the flash sale. (These may be on the same page as one of the freebies for a double whammy!)
- Each clue includes 2 or more letters.
- Collect all 7 clues.
- Put them together in the order they appeared to create a discount code for the mystery bundle.
- On 31st August, use the code to download the you the mystery bundle from Ravelry for free
- Each clue is numbered so you will know if you have missed any.
- The image below will show you what the clues look like. The XX will be replaced with two or more letters from the code.
The bundle includes 3 pdf crochet patterns (which I’ll keep a secret), and will be available to download for free on 31st August, using this special code.
Like all the other offers, the code will be valid from midnight to midnight UK time (BST).
I don’t know about you, but I love a treasure hunt and I love crochet so this works for me – it has been super popular the last couple of years and is a great fun way to bag yourself some free pdf crochet patterns!
