Autumn is Coming… A flash sale event with added freebies

Welcome to ‘Autumn is coming,’ a brand new (to me) month-long flash sale and fun ‘find the freebies’ event which will take place throughout August 2022.

Although it’s still summer, I know many of you will have already started thinking about holiday gifts and your upcoming crochet project list. 

It may seem early, but what better time is there than the summer-slow-down to think about what you might make later in the year? If it’s too hot to actually crochet, you can still think about crochet!

Plus, there are a variety of projects included in this event so there’s something for all seasons (I haven’t forgotten about the southern hemisphere makers).

But I’m getting ahead of myself, let me take a moment to explain what’s involved with this fun event.

How does it work?

The ‘Autumn is coming’ event is run via email and on dora does, and is made up of 3 parts;

  • A daily flash sale – 50% off a different specified PDF pattern or ebook each day from 1st – 30th August
  • Free 3-pdf pattern bundle – collect the clues to get a code for a free exclusive PDF pattern bundle
  • Mystery freebies – find the picture banners that give you codes for a free PDF download

I’ll go into details of each of these in a moment, but first…

How do you join in?

To join in, you simply need to sign up to receive the Autumn is Coming event emails.

Each morning you will receive an email with a discount code for that day’s offer (these codes won’t be available anywhere else). The mystery freebies and bundle clues will be on some of the pages of the discounted products.

By signing up to this event, you will also receive the weekly WiP TiP – you can unsubscribe at any time.

If you are already a member of the WiP Tip you will still need to sign up to join in. Whilst I am super excited about this event, I appreciate it may not be for everyone, so I’m making it an opt-in event rather than just assuming everyone wants to join the fun.

Make sure you sign up via the Autumn is Coming link rather than any standard wip tip sign up options.

Daily flash sale

Each day from 1st to 30th August, I will be offering a different pattern or ebook at 50% off.

Your daily email will include the 50% discount code and a link to take you to the relevant page. Follow the link to that day’s offer to find out more about it. If it’s the one for you, you can choose to purchase with the discount code from either Etsy or Ravelry.

Each code will be emailed out shortly after midnight UK time and valid for 24 hours only.

The only place you will find the discount codes is in the email, so if you are joining part way through the month you will receive the next code after you sign up. (i.e., if you sign up at lunch time on day 4, the first code you receive will be fore day 5.)

The sale will include garment patterns (lots of them), accessories, ebooks (most of which are new) and my top 3 best selling patterns.

No fillers here, just lots of my favourites!

Each pattern included in the sale is a paid PDF only and not available for free on the blog in their entirety.

I know that for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, you will be looking towards the emergence of spring, so I’ve included some lighter weight garments too.

I rarely run discounts, and this is the biggest price drop I have ever done, so if you have your eye on something, sign up and see if it is included in the offer!

Collect the clues for a free 3 PDF pattern bundle on day 31

I know times are tight for many at the moment, so as well as the sale, I wanted to offer some zero cost fun with a bit of a treasure hunt vibe.

Over the course of the month, I will place 8 picture banners throughout the pages of the patterns and ebooks which are involved in the flash sale.

Each of these banners will include two or three letters. Make a note of each of the letters and put them together in the order they appeared at the end of the month to create the bundle freebie code.

This code will allow you to download a special pattern bundle from Ravelry on the final day of the event (31st August)

The banner will look something like this (the XXX will be replaced with the relevant clue):

The bundle includes 3 of my favourite PDF patterns (none of which are included in the sale). Two of the patterns are in my top 10 best sellers.

The third is a brand new pattern which is not yet on sale. It will only be released on general sale after the event has finished, so if you like to get ahead, make sure you keep an eye out for the clues to make the code!

I’ll send the link to the bundle on the final day of the event, August 31st, and you will have 24 hours to use the code to grab the bundle for free.

Mystery freebies

On top of the bundle codes, I will also be offering some free mystery patterns throughout the month. There are 4 in total, one each week.

I’ll hide another picture banner in some of the pattern and ebook pages included in the sale, so when you open up the page to look at each day’s sale, make sure you keep an eye out for these mystery freebies.

The image will contain a discount code to get the pattern for free in ravelry for 24 hours.

Click on the image to be taken to the mystery pattern page then, if it’s up your street, click on the ravelry link to download for free!

These codes will only be valid for 24 hours so make sure you don’t miss them.

If you are not able to use ravelry due to visual disturbance, please email me the code and pattern name within the 24 hour validity period and I will send you the file directly (please allow up to 2 working days). The same goes for the PDF bundle.

Note that none of the mystery freebies are patterns which are included in the sale.
