The Beehive Beanie: A free, easy crochet hat pattern
This Beehive Beanie was inspired by the need to remember how important our bees are whilst they are all hiding away from the cold!
This quick, easy crochet hat uses chunky yarn and is great for beginners with some experience.
This hat is super versatile and cosy. It can be worn as a slouchy beanie or worn higher up, beret style, to keep you looking chic all through the cold days.

Round 4: Ch1, starting in first st, *1hdc, 2hdc in next st; rep from * to end, ss to top of first st to join, turn. 27 sts
If I follow what you have written, I get way too many stitches. Did you mean to write it something like this?
Round 4: Ch 1, starting in first st, *1hdc in next stitch, 2 hdc in next stitch*. Repeat from * to * to end. That way, I get 27 stitches.
I like the pattern and am continuing on now crocheting.
Hi there, The version you have written has the same meaning intended by the one I wrote, so 1hdc then in the next st 2hdc and repeat. I’m not sure how you have initially interpreted it but it sounds like you’re well on the way 🙂
All the best, Dora
